A scholarship is a financial aid given to students, to help them complete or continue their education. The scholarship is awarded according to various criteria, usually merit, but also other may be used: in the US many famous athletes (especially in basket or football) get a scholarship to attend a college (where they will play for the college team); some scholarships are based on ethnicity and awarded to students of a particular race or religion. Many famous (and rich) people offer scholarships to young scholars (for example, Bill and his wife Melissa Gates, through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, created a scholarship for attending a USA college, for more information see Bill Gates scholarship). Apply for your scholarship now!

Microsoft decided to release the source code (well, part of) of the .NET framework, one of the most employed programming framework, used in ASP.NET websites and C# and VB.NET applications. The sources will be released with the Microsoft Refernce License, a very restrictive license (sources are not meant to be modified and redistributed, but only to help people debug their applications). Debug symbols can help programmers better debug their applications (i.e. ScottGu’s Blog shows how to “step into” the GridView DataBind method). More info on ScottGu’s Blog.

Radiohead, one of the most famous bands in the world, is goin to release its new album, In Rainbows, on the Internet. The new album will be available only from their website, in two formats: Discbox, which will feature a 18 tracks CD, vinyl, artworks and more, or a downloadable version, which will be offered for a very interesting price: ? ! No, it’s not a mistake, when I say ? I mean ? !! The band decided to let people choose the price of the album: you choose how much to pay it, you download it, and after listening you can come back and add a few dollars if you liked it! It’s an heart quake in the music market, and many musicians could be interested in the same possibility, after all Radiohead is one of the biggest bands in the world, and isn’t new to thing like these: from the last album they abandoned majors, and sold it through alternative channels. Major heads already released a few comments (anonymously) , and they seemed really worried! Watch out, the world is changing, and music world too!
